Gumball Machine Birthday Cake

This darling birthday cake was made for Christopher who was turning 6. The base is made of Funfetti cake mix and the gumball machine is a combination of Funfetti and pound-cake. The small assorted color gumballs were purchased from Gumball.com. Everything except the plastic fish bowl is edible. “The cake was so much fun to make”, said Melissa! “It looks like a fairly simple cake, but the construction took a bit longer than expected because I had to do a lot of work went into supporting the weight of the gumballs”. Melissa said she took great care in shaping gumball machine, because if she were to make one wrong move, then entire project would have to be scratched.
