In the late 1980s, Triad made its mark in the casino industry by developing a large change machine that held $10,000 in quarters. This machine was unique in its ability to accept currency and dispense money when a bar-coded coupon was inserted into the bill acceptor. This groundbreaking technology, first installed in the Trump properties in Atlantic City, was the first of its kind and set the stage for Triad's future innovations.
Responding to the casino industry's need to break large bills into smaller ones, Triad developed the first Bill Breaker. This product was a resounding success, with over 60 percent of U.S. casinos adopting the Triad Bill Breaker. From small to large operations, the Bill Breaker became an integral part of the casino industry.
Triad's innovative journey didn't stop there. In 2005, the company introduced its Bill Breaker to the self-service laundry industry at the Clean Show in Orlando, Florida. This exposure led to the redesign of their technology to suit the specific needs of the laundry industry, resulting in the popular Model 500 Bill Breakers.
In 2011, Triad developed the Model 400 change machines, capable of "recycling" bills. This innovation addressed a significant industry need, allowing customers to receive change in smaller bills rather than a large amount of quarters. Today, Triad's Model 400 and 500 change machines and Bill Breakers are used in every state in the U.S., testament to their wide acceptance and popularity. Today, all models are available in both front-load and rear-load formats.
Triad's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction has been a key driver of its success. The company continues to evolve its products, recently adding a third currency cassette to the Model 500 Bill Breaker to increase capacity.
In 2019, American Changer Corp. completed a Purchase Asset Agreement with Triad Design Group, uniting two of the most reputable brands of money changers in the world – American Changer® and Triad®. This acquisition reinforced American Changer's vision to remain at the forefront of ingenuity and continue the legacy of these distinguished brands.
